Picture of strength changed in Bangladeshi Army, Tariq Rahman gave a shock to the Army Chief

Dhaka. After political instability in Bangladesh, rumors of large-scale change and earthquake have intensified within the country’s army. Recently, some restricted posting orders issued by the Army have created a sensation in the military circles of Dhaka. At the center of these major administrative changes are the country’s highly sensitive 46th Independent Infantry Brigade and several other major military commands, sparking discussions in military circles whether the reshuffle is part of a deliberate strategy to gradually limit Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman’s powers and his operational influence.
Strategic change behind military transfers
According to inside news, the real strategist behind these important transfers is said to be someone else. According to reports, Defense Advisor to the Prime Minister Brigadier (Retd) AKM Shamsuddin Islam is the chief architect of these postings, who have the full support of Prime Minister Tariq Rehman. Since the Defense Advisor to the Prime Minister got the additional responsibility of the Defense Ministry as well as the Armed Forces Division in April last year, his administrative stature has increased significantly, the effect of which can now be clearly seen in the civil-military chain and command system.
Major changes in 46th Independent Infantry Brigade
Among all these changes, the most important and biggest change has been seen in the 46th Independent Infantry Brigade. This brigade works directly under the Army Headquarters and its role is considered most important in the security and strategic arrangement of the capital Dhaka. Brigadier General Mohammad Humayun Kabir, who held the post of Military Training Director, has now been handed over the command of this important brigade. Since this post is much more sensitive than general administrative responsibility, this major change has created a deep rumble in the military circles.
New equations in command architecture
Apart from this, there has also been a large-scale reshuffle of senior army officers between the Mirpur-based 6th Independent Air Defense Brigade and the 33rd Infantry Division. Due to these continuous transfers and changes in command, new equations seem to be forming in the entire military structure, due to which there is a lot of speculation in the defense circles of the country regarding the future strategic movements.
