Dangerous training of Mahila Brigade, BLF prepared a new strategy

Quetta. Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed the formation of a new unit of women fighters in Pakistan’s restive province of Balochistan. A video has surfaced showing female members undergoing military training and carrying weapons, although these claims have not been confirmed by any independent source.
Formation of a new unit in the name of Karima Baloch
BLF has named its new women’s military unit ‘Karima Armed Assault Division’ (KAAD). This unit has been named after Karima Baloch, who was associated with the Baloch separatist movement and former president of Baloch Students Organization-Azad. According to the organization, these women are not limited to armed conflict only, but they will also play an active role in important tasks related to intelligence gathering, communication, medical aid and logistics.
Claims of attacks and activities on security forces
The organization has claimed that members of this new unit have started their activities in many parts of Balochistan. The BLF also claimed to have targeted a Pakistani Army convoy on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route near Turbat and caused casualties to some army personnel. Apart from this, there have also been reports of armed activities and damage to a government office in Kalat and Chagai areas.
Security situation and challenges of Balochistan
The Quetta-Taftan route has long faced serious security challenges, with incidents like targeting of convoys by security forces becoming frequent. Although security experts believe that the propaganda videos of any rebel organization cannot be considered as solid proof of its actual military capability, but the emergence of this new unit of women fighters has definitely added a new aspect to the security equations of the region.
