Big upheaval in history! Türkiye will send soldiers to protect Saudi, once they were staunch enemies

Riyadh. Türkiye is preparing to send major military aid to Saudi Arabia to counter the growing threat of Iran-backed Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Under this strategy, Türkiye is planning to send additional troops and defense equipment in the coming weeks. Recently, in an important meeting held under the Mecca Defense Agreement, Türkiye and Pakistan had agreed to military deployment in Saudi Arabia. A senior Turkish official has informed the media that Ankara will send its additional equipment, technical and emergency response teams and combat forces to Saudi Arabia.
Military operation against Houthis in Yemen
This important decision by Turkey to help Saudi Arabia has come at a time when Saudi-backed government forces have launched a major military campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The main objective of this operation is to take back control of the areas recently occupied by the Houthis. So far, more than 270 government soldiers and Houthi fighters have been killed in this fierce clash going on between the two sides in Yemen.
Discussion of historical rivalry
In this war against the Houthis, the Saudi Air Force is continuously supporting the Yemeni government army from the air, while the military aid being sent by Turkey has once again rekindled the almost 200-year-old historical enmity when the Ottoman Sultanate defeated the last king of the Saud dynasty and publicly sentenced him to death. The conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Saudi Emirate of Diriyah began in the early 18th century, when Saudi Arabia bin Abdulaziz captured the Hejaz region. The Ottomans then took back control of Hejaz in 1813. Then, after the death of Saudi bin Abdulaziz in 1814, power came into the hands of his son Abdullah bin Saud Al Saudi, after which the diplomatic and historical equations between the two sides have been changing.
